1993 Travelled to China, journeyed to Wutai Mountains visiting Tang and Song Dynasty Temples; the Buddhist caves at Datong and Luoyang
1991 Travelled to Korea, visited Buddhist temples of Kyongju, Pulguk, Pusok, T'ongdo and Haein. Travelled to China visiting Wei Jin and Han Dynasty sites of Jiayuguan and Mogao caves at Dunhuang as well as the Buddhist caves at Bingliza, Lanzhou.
1990 Travelled to Korea, lectured on Australian Art at the Hong-Ik University, Suwon University and the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Seoul. Studied in the studio of Master Ceramist Kim Ki-Chul.
1989 Travelled to India, trekking to Ladakh. Of special interest-the Buddhist monasteries of Lamayuru, Sheh, Tikse and Hemis.

1987 Visited China and Tibet; lectured on Australian Art at the Central Academy of Art, Beijing; The China Publishing Company, Beijing; Chengdu Academy of Art, Chengdu, Sichuan Province; the University of Tibet, Lhasa; Lhasa Artists Association, Lhasa. Of special interest-the Buddhist and B'on symbols of Lamaseries, Serra, Drepung, Ganden, Jokhang. Journeyed to the Sacred Lake of Nam-Tso.
1985 Travelled Nepal and India, trekking to Khumbu glacier, the Himalayan High Plateau. Of special interest-Buddhist art and symbols: visited Buddhist monasteries and temples in Khatmandu, Hille, Bung and Thangboche. Journeyed to Western India, visiting Hindu and Jain temples in New Delhi, Jaipur and Agra.
